Can we bring our dog?
We welcome dogs, but as we are a farm so please keep your doggies on a lead at all times.
Where should we park?
Our car park is half way up our drive to the farm, there is a short footpath through the field from the carpark to the barn, with lovely views across the farm and Loch Creran. Just follow the signs.
Do you have mobility access?
Yes, we have mobility parking in our farmyard. The barn, toilet and top area of the garden are accessible by wheelchair.
Can we cycle to Highland Fold Garden & Barn?
Yes, we are less than half a mile from the Sustrans Cycle path (Ballachulish – Oban section) www.sustrans.org.uk/find-other-routes/the-caledonia-way/. Well worth the detour we’re told!
Can we walk to Highland Fold Garden & Barn?
There are loads of lovely walks which will lead you to us, the most popular is Sutherlands Grove which is about a mile along the cycle path from us. www.walkhighlands.co.uk/argyll/glen-dubh.shtml
Can we get to you by public transport?
We are 1/2 mile from the Barcaldine bus stop, so you can get to us by bus from anywhere on the Oban – Fort William route, or by local bus from Oban. The buses are fairly infrequent so check your times carefully.

What should we wear to visit Highland Fold Garden & Barn?
We are an outdoor site, so best to dress for damp ground and come prepared for our erratic weather, with plenty of layers.
Are there a lot of midges?
Midges tend to be most active in the early morning and the evening, but It can be midgey on still days between June and September so best to bring some midge repellent with you just in case.
Do you cater for ‘Free From’diets?
We always have a least two dairy free options. Most of our ice cream is gluten free and egg free. We always have options available for both. We don’t use nuts in our ice cream.
Will we get a chance to see your Highland cows?
It depends where they are the day you come, they like to hide down in the burn if its too hot or in the trees if its wet, but you might see them as you are walking from the car park. Is all your ice cream made with milk from your Highland cows?
No, the farm doesn’t have enough cows for us to make all of our ice cream from their milk, so we make our Natural Flavours range with organic Scottish milk which we buy in, and we also make a range of dairy free sorbets.
